It’s been many a year since I’ve done this. Blogging. Back in the late nineties I called it Rants – trying to capture some of that essence of Dennis Miller. One part anger, two parts cynicism, and a bit of self-disparaging humor. I had a good sixty or seventy of these writings, which seemed so monumental at the time. This was long before people could post pics of their meals of Facebook or tweet who should have won American Idol. No resentment from me – I’m not about to go hipster on blogging, by any stretch.
My deal is that I don’t like to say much unless it’s worth saying. The whole introverted creator deal. I like to hone my words, which invariably leads me to post next to nothing.
So why start a WordPress blog?
For starters, I have some material about a new game called the DramaSystem, which I helped fund on Kickstarter. I’ve run three sessions with my Friday night crew and it’s been a blast. I want to post about it, and given that I can be a bit long-winded, I’d rather take this somewhere other than Facebook or Google+. I’ll start with that and see if I can get back into a writing frame of mind.
The obligatory who am I bit: A lifetime gamer who started with D&D in the eighties and has hit plenty of systems over the years. I’m an occasional artist, miniature painter, and generally creative type faced with too many distractions to accomplish big things.
